What I'm Wearing

Cheap & Chic!

Today I didn’t go anywhere special other than school. Since I had to do a presentation in class, I decided to go for the business casual look. I wore my black pants, new BCX Giraffe-Print Trench and Steve Madden flats that I purchased from Macys last week. Everywhere I went I’ve gotten nothing short of a compliment. I really felt confident, beautiful, and chic in this gorgeous double-breasted coat. From a distance it looks like a dress. Although macys.com says that it hits low at the hip that wasn’t the case for me. The sleeves are long and cut off promptly at the hands. This trench is a definite Spring go getter; bright and Pastel hues will compliment it’s black and white contrast. It’s designed to go well with just about anything. I overlooked this beauty at macys.com due to the bad stock image; however, when I saw it in store I knew that I wasn’t leaving without it – and here it is! I am glad that I bought this coat. I love it; and with this I will have a Spring affair.

So Here's What I Have On
Coat: BCX Giraffe-Print Trench $25.40
Purse: Large Signature “C” Patent with Black Leather Stripe by Coach (I got it as a gift: under $100 at the Coach Outlet in Sawgrass)

Shoes: Steve Madden “Kappy” flats in black $26.99

Smile: Priceless!

My Total Cost: $52.39 ..... Not Bad

When all has failed

Retreat!

Make the most out of this recession; get creative by doing different things, research (or better yet subscribe to my blog), and spend wisely. Coming next week will be one of the greatest events on earth: Spa Week. Beginning Monday, April 13- 19, 2009, $50 treatments will be available at 400 spas nationwide – including 80 plus Manhattan locations (venues in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, and Westchester. This event is going to be like a sold out show, so you should book your appointments immediately.

Excited yet!?!? Participating spas will be offering manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, body wraps, waxes, and all sorts of beauty-cutie goodies on the low-low. If you’re someone who’s never been to a spa, this would be the perfect time to get together with your girlfriends or even boyfriend and indulge in a great experience at a high-end Spa. I deal like this doesn’t come around often. The last time I went to a spa retreat was in 2004, so I’m way overdue for a pampering. Trust me, with all the stress and Bitch-fits going on around us, this will be $50 well spent. Click here for a location near you. Did you forget that I’m the Queen of Bargains?

Ta-Ta for now - I’m going to book my appointment!

MEN MUST-HAVES FOR SPRING

POLOs for the Bros!!!!
Yesterday, I decided to a little shopping for my boyfriend to update his wardrobe; however, I was a little confused on what exactly to get hm at first. He's 29, conservation, and not much into the lastest fad. So I headed uptown to Express and purchased 2 classic but casual polos. They were on sale: buy one at $34.50 and get the second 1/2 off. The 100% cotton polo comes in various vibrant Spring colors and embroidered at the front of the shirt is the signature Express lion. I love the way this polo snugs the arm to accentuate the muscles. Express has a polo for every occasion (there are many styles and colors to choose from). My boyfrend tried them on and was definately pleased. Below are the exact shirts I purchased.
I'd suggest that you purchase atleast one polo shirt for your boyfriend, husband, father or brother and a spring gift. If Express is far beyond your budget, check out bargain polos from Aeropostale or American Eagle Outfitters.

Side Note: I also purchased a long sleeve stripe blouse for work at $23.70. Its made of cotton/ nylon/ spandex, has buckle cuffs and is with machine washable. I may purchase 2 more for the road before the sell ends.
