Street Walking: A Diva's Secret Shoe Domain

Whoever said good things come to those who wait must have been referring shoe shoppers. Why do we constantly find ourselves associating huge department stores and expensive boutiques carrying limited sizes as a shoe Heaven? And why is it that we’re constantly going above and beyond - traveling miles, breaking our heels just to find a decent shoe store when there’s probably one in our backyard? Ladies if you’re ever in the Brooklyn/ Prospect Park area – listen up because I’ve found a good shoe spot for you (if you're open minded). And it's just steps away from the park, zoo and Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

Whenever exiting the Prospect Park Train station I’m always greeted by this huge warehouse called Phat Albert. I must admit from all angles the store front looks completely unappealing and it’s nowhere equivalent to Bloomingdales or Saks Fifth avenue. However, it’s a definitely a shoe spot that you should consider checking out.

In the past few months that I’ve been here, never once have I stepped inside until recently. Everyday I’d walk past this store clueless to the hidden jewels waiting inside. Yesterday while waiting for a friend, I decided to take a look inside and to my amazement I found a shoe jackpot! Ever wondered where all the department store shoes and sandals go when out of season – if you guessed here you’re completely right!

The shoe selection here is quite impressive - BCBG, Blowfish, Anne Klein, Arturo Chiang and Sam Edelman to name a few. The shoes may not be in their correct boxes but it's not a big deal. Did I mention that the prices are completely recession proof; dirt cheap to be exact! I've found inexpensive thongs for as low as $7. With their current promotion you can get 3 pairs for $50 or 1 at $17.50.

This is a store where you'd find yourself covertly indulging in unbelievable shoe bargains without dishing the goods to your friends. Beyond the store's unsightly looks, nonexisting customer service and clutter of items - Phat Albert can easily be a Diva's secret shoe domain. We're still in a recession and you'd find that others could cares less where you purchase your shoes as long as they're authentic, affordable, make you look and feel good - then that's when they'll want to go. I'm always up for a good shoegasm.

Like the old saying goes "If the shoe fits - Wear it"!

Search For The Best Summer Sandals

I hate looking for things – especially when they’re supposed to be where I last left them. This morning I went on a rant in search of my summer sandals. For some strange reason, I can’t find the handful of sandals I purchased last year. I looked everywhere; underneath the bed, in the closet, behind the door and still no sandals. On the positive side, this gives me a reason to go shoe shopping for sandals! Here’s what I’m getting

Every woman needs a pair of bright white thongs to sachet in – especially foAdd Imager the summer. When I saw this Flipperr Wedge - Whiteleather thong embellished with gold décor, I knew this was the one. Talk about toe-expose’! This sassy 2 inch heel wedge can be worn with just about anything; a short halter dress, long skinny jeans, or relaxed pleated shorts. Not bad for $59.99.

Ramos 2 - Multi Amaretto

I'm not even a wedgey (a women who loves wedges) yet I'm falling head over heels for this bad boy by BCBG. The first thing that attracted me to Ramos 2 - Multi Amaretto is it's intricate color. Muy Caliente! It's not like anything I've seen before from any brand. The funky upper portion is an interwoven leather of cream, gold, tan, and cinnamon brown - completed with brown paint dripping down the heel. I love how BCBG makes sexy wearable heels. $98.99 is a little steep for my budget, but I was sold once I saw the bold golden buckle above the peep-toe. I can't wait to bring on the summer heat with this baby!

They say when in Rome do as the Romans do, and I did just that! Believe it or not; this is my first pair of gladiators and I'm very happy with my pick of Freak Out Sandal by Luichiny for $59.99. Before, I was never the type to go ga-ga over glads - it just wasn't my thing. This was only because I could never find the perfect pair. They were either too wide, too ugly, or too much. Thank god I've found the one! This sleek, leather, open-toe sandal features a beautiful weaving straps in silver. And get this; there's a zipper on the back that makes it easy for you to put it on or off. This sandal is going to be my favorite for summer this year!

Sanfrann in Coral

And finally for both beauty and comfort, I purchased Steve Madden's Sanfrann in Coral. Coral is a great color to wear for the summer. It's bright, bold and goes perfectly with just about any skin complexion - which is one reason why it caught my attention. But when I looked closely and noticed this was a patent leather snake-skin sandal in Coral for $49.99, I knew I was in love. There's no denying that this looped thong is beautiful. It's simply fun, pretty, and still chic - perfect for all summer adventures. I'm going down under with this baby!

I just killed two birds with one stone: I boughtsome much needed summer sanadal and I got rid of that horrible headache. What more could a girl ask for?!?!

Window Shoppping

H & M and BCBG

Today while on my fashion and beauty endeavors uptown (5th Avenue), I decided to do a little window shopping. I mean who doesn’t window shop?! Not only am I a bargain shopper, but I’m a visual shopper as well. Believe it or not – visual displays are extremely important in the retail industry. It tells the consumer a lot about what the store has to offer for the season and tells a story of the look as well. Sometimes, I like to window shop first then depending on the visuals - browse inside on another day because nowadays I just don’t have the time to waste in stores (with the crowding and long lines). There are days when I’m committed to shopping online and there are days when I’ll commit to at least 5 hours B&B (browsing and buying). And today I did both. With that said, here are some Spring Visuals from two of my favorite stores H & M and BCBG.

H & M is going with Pastel colors with the casual look. V-neck striped polo’s for the guys alongside skinny jeans and sneakers, which I’m not digging too much. I would keep the polo and add on nice fitted denims or cargo shorts. However; I definitely adore the look on the manikin with the Shamrock belted jacket, pink mini, and although I do not love these black sandals; I do not dislike them either. I would prefer something of brighter color and height. You may not be able to see it well, but the added accessories are amazing. From an angle, they looked like fake fruits. Yummy!

As you can see below, in celebration on their 20 year anniversary, BCBG is focusing on chic V-cuts as far as tops and dresses, along with coral and violet hues. They even have dark hues that’ll look perfect for Spring and Summer as well. I really love the dresses on the display. You can wear it as an evening or day look, depending on how you dress it up or down with accessories.

Big Ups to the BCBG Visual team they did an amazing job!

Randomness: Day26 made an in-store appearance for a meet and greet at the Best Buy on 5th Avenue. The awaiting line was ridiculously long and it was raining; therefore, I really wasn't up for the wait. Instead, I gave some eager teens my spot (in line) and headed off to Lord and Taylor. No Bitchassness for me today!

Shopping Responsibly

Spring SHOE-GASMS:

Imagine walking home from a long day of work. Your boss has worked just about every nerve in your body. You’ve missed the season finale of ER, rain is about to pour heavily; which isn’t a good look, since you blew out your hair the day before. Everything is going south until you notice pumps - that are to die for - on display at a small boutique across the street. Without thinking and/ or looking, you dash across the street (almost missing death) to get a better look. You enter the boutique and ask to try on the pumps that are on the window display.
“What size,” asked the associate? “European - Size 40 please,” you respond.
Shortly after the associate brings the shoe along with a condom set on top of the box then speeds away.
“What in the world!?!?!!?” You think to yourself. You shake your head, dismissing the event and proceed to try on the pumps. Suddenly your pelvic muscles contract into quick circles, followed by an intense stimulation. In one minute flat you undergo a major orgasm. It’s not just any orgasm that you’ve experience – it’s a shoe-gasm! Embarrassed by the event you quickly purchase the shoe and exit the store. As you exit the associate says “Next time do it responsibly – use a condom!”
So with that said, here are some shoes that have you coming back for more!!!!!!!!!!
