Get the Look: Maybelline New York for William Rast NYFW

For William Rast’s fall 2010 show, Maybelline New York Makeup Artist Charlotte Willer created a look that melded Brigitte Bardot with a little biker girl edge. “We wanted the girls to look sexy, but in a fresh, modern way,” said Charlotte.

That freshness came with flawness skin, defined brows and loads of mascara, the only adornment Charlotte added to eyes, but it was enough. Nude lips, in a shade specially created by Charoltte for the show, were the final touch.

How to get the look:
Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation: apply with fingers over entire face.

The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara in Glam Black: Charlotte added layer after layer on top and bottom lashes to build up this mega-lash look.
Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil: Top off dramatic lashes with beautifully defined brows. The key is tp create a brow that’s shaped but not overdone. Color Sensational Lipcolor in Nearly There: Charlotte’s special creation for this show was the perfect Bardot nude. Try Color Sensational in Nearly There to achieve a similar look. Apply with finger for a soft, sultry look.

Twinkle by Wenlan Fall 2010 Collection

Last night, Fashionwithfifi entered the world of Twinkle by Wenlan's Fall 2010 show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. We froliced into the woods for a Fall 2010 Collection that is playfully gothic, a contradiction in chunk and theatrically understated. The color palette consisted of mossy green, black, olive green, mauve and royal blue. Models strutted down the runway with beautifully crafted mini dresses – some sleeveless and others one sleeve.

Silhouettes went well with baby chunky knits and geometric shapes. Textures consisted of shiny and matte finishes and notes of chiffon. Eyes widen as models graced the runway, one by one, in modernly dapper pieces. The designer surely did not disappoint!

The show was a packed house. As for celebrity spotting: Fashionwithfifi sat a few seats across from Miss Jay Alexander and the lovely Angela Simmons.

Christian Siriano Fall 2010 Collection

Designer Christian Siriano - who’s virtually known for his sharp, avant garde designer pieces, took on a different approach at this year’s Fall 2010 Fashion Week. Siriano decided to tone it down and with sleek silks, ruffles, metallics and above-the-knees one-shoulder piece dresses.

Noted color selection was dark - Navy Blue, Black, Violet and Plum. One word used to describe this collection would be empowering. Christian Siriano may be young, but he’s definitely proving to be a veteran in the fashion game.

Michael Angel Fall 2010 Collection

At the Fall 2010 Fashion Week showing on Friday, Australian designer Michael Angel showcased striking designs that were characterized by high waist skirts, adorned mohair jackets, and an angora and crepe dress. The garments were skillfully constructed into matured sophisticated looks.

Backstage Angel expressed, "I wanted the shape of the garments to stand out here, not the color."

Hair and Makeup: Makeup, which was provided by the Maybelline New York team, was reserved to a more delicate and sweet look; however, shades of gold, topaz blue and bright purple were on display. Models’ wore hair that was teased and pulled back.
