For William Rast’s fall 2010 show, Maybelline New York Makeup Artist Charlotte Willer created a look that melded Brigitte Bardot with a little biker girl edge. “We wanted the girls to look sexy, but in a fresh, modern way,” said Charlotte.
That freshness came with flawness skin, defined brows and loads of mascara, the only adornment Charlotte added to eyes, but it was enough. Nude lips, in a shade specially created by Charoltte for the show, were the final touch.

Last night, Fashionwithfifi entered the world of Twinkle by Wenlan's Fall 2010 show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. We froliced into the woods for a Fall 2010 Collection that is playfully gothic, a contradiction in chunk and theatrically understated. The color palette consisted of mossy green, black, olive green, mauve and royal blue. Models strutted down the runway with beautifully crafted mini dresses – some sleeveless and others one sleeve.
Silhouettes went well with baby chunky knits and geometric shapes. Textures consisted of shiny and matte finishes and notes of chiffon. Eyes widen as models graced the runway, one by one, in modernly dapper pieces. The designer surely did not disappoint!
The show was a packed house. As for celebrity spotting: Fashionwithfifi sat a few seats across from Miss Jay Alexander and the lovely Angela Simmons.
If you follow us on twitter, you'd know that last night the Fashionwithfifi.com team kicked off the Fall 2010 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week front and center at the Farah Angsana show. The ready to wear dresses were beautifully crafted to define a woman's every curves. Angsana used a combination of silk, wool and fur woe the mature women and sequins to wow younger women.
Colors from Angsana's fall collection were bold silk scarletts, fashionably funky fucshia, sophisticated black with hints of oyster, violette and copper. The collection can be described as a very old Hollywood chic which can easily be worn at any red carpet event. And to keep things simple, the models strutted down the runway in pointy-toe black stilettos.
As for makeup, the look was pretty simple - soft and romantic. Models wore the smoky eye look, followed by soft nutral lips and blush. And most importantly, we can't forget the hair that was pulled back in an up do: sophisticated and chic bun. Simplicity is often the key to fashion. Both makeup and hair was done by Christo.

There’s sad, sad news in the fashion world today. Fashion extraordinaire Alexander McQueen was found dead in his apartment in London. It is believed that the 40 year old designer committed suicide.
McQueen's family issued a statement stating that "On behalf of Lee McQueen's family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand, has been found dead at his home. At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family. Lee's family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news and we hope the media will respect this."
To start off Fashion Week, McQueen’s presentation was scheduled to be held from 3-5pm today at MAC & Milk KCD who is handling McQ’s Presentation sent out an email indicating “Today’s McQueens Presentation has been canceled” – just like that. There’s nothing really to say other than his unexpected death being dire and shocking to everyone – whether you’re a fan of his work or not. McQueen was truly one of those designers whose work will go on for ages. There will never be a designer quite like Alexander McQueen and celebrities and designers alike all agree. Here’s what they had to say:
Naomi Campbell: “I am truly devastated to lose my close friend. His talent had no boundaries and he was an inspiration to everyone who worked with him and knew him. This is a sad day to all who loved him around the world and my condolences are with his family. I will miss him so much, he will never be forgotten.”
Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief, Vogue: “We are devastated to learn of the death of Alexander McQueen, one of the greatest talents of his generation. He brought a uniquely British sense of daring and aesthetic fearlessness to the global stage of fashion. In such a short career, Alexander McQueen’s influence was astonishing—from street style to music culture and the world’s museums. His passing marks an insurmountable loss.”
Lagerfel, Chanel designer: “I found his work very interesting and never banal. There was always some attraction to death, his designs were sometimes dehumanized. Who knows, perhaps after flirting with death too often, death attracts you."
