Farah Angsana Fall 2010 Collection

If you follow us on twitter, you'd know that last night the Fashionwithfifi.com team kicked off the Fall 2010 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week front and center at the Farah Angsana show. The ready to wear dresses were beautifully crafted to define a woman's every curves. Angsana used a combination of silk, wool and fur woe the mature women and sequins to wow younger women.

Colors from Angsana's fall collection were bold silk scarletts, fashionably funky fucshia, sophisticated black with hints of oyster, violette and copper. The collection can be described as a very old Hollywood chic which can easily be worn at any red carpet event. And to keep things simple, the models strutted down the runway in pointy-toe black stilettos.

As for makeup, the look was pretty simple - soft and romantic. Models wore the smoky eye look, followed by soft nutral lips and blush. And most importantly, we can't forget the hair that was pulled back in an up do: sophisticated and chic bun. Simplicity is often the key to fashion. Both makeup and hair was done by Christo.

Stay tune throughout the week as we'll updated you on fashion, beauty, celebrity sitings, front and behind-the-scenes info and imagines on what's going on this Fall's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Video from the show will be up shortly.

Milan Fashion Week: Prada RTW Spring 2010

Giant projections of chandeliers fading into doorways fading into beaches fading into more chandeliers and more doorways. For Miuccia Prada, such imagery set the tone for a fashion locale situated somewhere “between reality and fantasy.” It’s a place where postmodern Bardot types stroll around in Bermudas under couture-inspired coats with raw edges and scuba whites under chandelier pinafores. Crystals spill over shoes and handbags, and, if a girl prefers briefs to real pants, well, she’s got the legs for them. Yet if it all sounds like youth, beauty and not-quite-innocence, stop there, as this lineup pulsed with the iron grip of the designer’s womanly control.

In a vacuum, this was a beautiful, focused collection. Chez Prada, it made for an inviting palate-cleanser concocted from beloved motifs — tailored, tacky, minimal, decorated, even a beachy postcard or several, cousins to that scenic-print outing of yore — into something that felt familiar yet fresh. Most significantly, it felt like a bridge to somewhere else. After last season’s Forties’ tour de force, which itself followed a series of major statement shows, Prada here offered what soon might prove to have been a calming interlude between major moments. She is one of the few designers working today who can whip such a transition into genuine fashion.

London Fashion Week: Louise Goldin RTW Spring 2010

Influences from Rococo are respectably evident in Louise Goldin's Spring 2010 RTW knitwear collection. Goldin showe cased beautiful patterns into a pretty pink minidress, and fashioned a short, flaring dress of ice blue, edged with black and white frills. Cones were used to emphasize busts and leather insets. Soft, feminine pieces made to flatter every woman's features.

Ready to Wear:

Makeup for Rainy Days

Yesterday, the weather was downright ugly: wind, rain, and chills. And that wasn’t the scariest part – seeing women in watered-down makeup looking as though they were auditioning for “thriller part 2” was.

Girls, don’t let the nasty weather get the best of your beauty this season; prepare for rainy days and soak into Smashbox’s water proof makeup. Smashbox’s Limitless Lash Mascara is the ultimate triple threat: smudge and flake-resistant waterproof mascara on one end, gentle remover and conditioner on the other that removes mascara without the fuss. It also lengthens, moisturizes and defines your lashes. The remover contains vitamins A & E, Echinacea, and calendula that softens your lashes as it doubles as a leave-in conditioner.

Also try Smashbox’s Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner that’s the ultimate must-have for the woman on the go. This gel-based waterproof liner comes in 5 different colors and is blendable for 60 seconds then transforms into a smudge-proof, budge-proof finish that will last the entire day. Avoid the raccoon look while lining the inner eye or when caught out in the rain.

I can’t express how important it is to prepare yourself for every occasion and Smashbox provides you with cosmetics that’ll do just that. Want more waterproof makeup, click on the Smashbox Link below to search great makeup for a natural look, daytime uses, and nasty weather.

Bargain of the Day

Spring/ Summer Dress

OMG! I've found the perfect Spring/ Summer dress. It's a Pintuck J.Crew dress that's on sale for $34.99 (from $58). This beautifully, lightweight, sleeveless dress is made of Pima cotton. Featured are charming rows of pleats and straight neckline. What I love about this dress is that it is simple yet so stylish. You can add to it with either a sleeveless tribal vest or funky accessories to give it that hippy/ eccentric feel. This dress is simply made and machine washable -- which makes it both a timeless and manageable piece..... meaning that you can wear it 2 years from now and it'll still have relevence, which is something that we recessionista should consider. The sizes range from small to large..... which means that a lot are in stock. You can purchase it either catalog/jcrew.com only. It comes in two colors: ivory and light pewter which is perfect for the season.

For those bootilicious gals, I'd suggest that you wear this dress with shorts or leggings because it falls to the midthigh. So on a windy day, your assets may be exposed, which is the only flaw to this dress. Other that; I'd definitely recommend buying this dress.
