Essie - Polishes That Never Fail To Impress

I have always been a huge fan of Essie nail polishes. You always know to expect high quality nail polishes in trendy innovative colors. That kind of product reliability is irresistible to me and has made me a loyal patron of these polishes. So when I got to try out an eclectic mix of new colors by the essie brand, needless to say, I was pretty excited!

First, I tried out an electric orange and a neon pink. When I first saw these brightly colored bottles, I was intrigued. And then, when I applied it and let my nails dry, I was shocked by the matte finish. It is so surprising and unexpected with such bold colors—in a good way!

Bright Tights’ is an amazing orange color that will add a pop of fun color where you least expect it. Since it has a matte finish, the color is a little more muted than it appears in the bottle. The consistency is a little bit thin, so I applied three thin coats to get a bright orange without any streaks. I absolutely loved how the matte finish looks when it dried!

Pink Parka’ is a neon pink polish whose matte finish makes it so interesting to look at! In the bottle, it looks like a shiny, Barbie-pink polish, but when it dries, the matte finish adds a whole new level of sophistication. The formula was a bit thin and took a bit of concentration in order to eliminate streaks and get an even, consistent finish. I applied three thin coats of this color as well and just adored the results!

Mink Muffs’ reminds me more of an exfoliating mud mask than an exotic fur. The rich, dark brown color is a nice alternative to the usual blacks, purples, and blues. Just two coats gave me a perfectly smooth, opaque finish that looks very professional. I personally love mixing black with brown accents, so I can see this color being the perfect accent to your favorite little black dress.

Chinchilly’ might perhaps be my newest obsession of the season. I have been craving a gray nail polish that strikes the impossible balance between too dark and too light. And I found exactly that with ‘Chinchilly’! I love that the color has a slight green tint to it, making it a little more interesting than the more traditional gray polishes. After two coats, I got a beautiful opaque gray that is so reminiscent of preppy Catholic school uniforms.

'Midnight Cami’ is the inkiest of navy blues that I have ever come across! I could have stopped with one coat, that’s how dark the polish is! The polish applied really well and I even found the thicker consistency easier to apply and avoid my cuticles. However, you will definitely need to use a base coat because the polish stained both my nails and cuticles an unsightly blue when I removed it. Other than that, this color is a great alternative to black polish!

essie nail polishes are available in a plethora of colors, which you can examine at your leisure here. Each bottle is $8.00 and is available either online or in select salons as listed on their site.

Protect Your Neck With DECLÉOR Contest

Decleor Instant Radiance Moisturizer

We're constantly reminded to moisturize our face. Moisturize our elbows, knees and toes but what about our neck? Caring for your neck is as equally important as it is to care for your face. In most cases, the first sign of aging appears on your neck and décolleté area - usually by appearing dark, dried, wrinkled, lined and slope-like.

Failing to care for your neck and décolleté will result in dryness and inelasticity. This early aging process is also exaggerated by the use of harsh alkaline products that are commonly found in soaps. It’s recommended that women should maintain a skincare regimen, particularly for the neck area, as early as possible. But you can’t use just any moisturizer – not all work alike. You should use a moisturizer that will protect your neck and vitalize your skin.

An expert in cosmetic aromatherapy, DECLÉOR's instant radiance moisturizer allows you to be in harmony with yourself and your environment, revealing the natural expression of your beauty and giving you radiant skin.

DECLÉOR offers a unique beauty regime created from the rigorous selection of natural ingredients, careful proportioning and exclusive blends of active concentrates, resulting in effective and sense-enhancing daily care routines. These concentrated solutions of regenerating energy, containing active essential oils, have been specially formulated to ensure optimum affinity with your skin.

DECLÉOR's instant radiance moisturizer immediately stimulates and reactivates the skin's natural functions for a complexion that's smooth, luminous, and full of vitality. And to top it off, this instant radiance moisturizer is lightweight, absorbs quickly, intensive, evens out even the most uneven skin tone and gives the skin a nice luminous glow. It features pearly micro-particles that brightens up the face for all day glow.

At well deserved $56, you’ll absolutely love what this moisturizer will do for your skin tone - giving it a nice glow and working wonders for your face and neck.

Hand Bags: Moschino J41590 Hobo Shopper

Dellamoda.com is quickly becoming one of my favorite sites to browse and shop. Like many women I'm a Handbag Freak. I love bags. I love them so much, my closet has enough handbags to open a boutique store. Many of my indulgences including this beautiful Moschino handbag J41590 Bag in cream have come from Dellamoda.com. The first time I layed eyes on this bag it was selling for a fitting $599. However, even to bag geeks like myself $599 seemed a little out of my reach. So I did what every good Fashion Circle Follower would do and waited. Much to my delight it paid off when I saw that Dellmoda was having a huge sale and marked this bag 67% Off, dropping the price down to a manageble $195. I express shipped it and now I have it. It's more beautiful in person than it is in pictures. I am not sure when or where I will wear it to yet, but I'm sure It will be a hit. This Moschino Hobo Shopper is a fine quality Italian handbag made with soft micro fiber and patent leather trimmings and handle. It has the functionality of a Snap open design that opens into three fully lined inner cavities with zippered inside pockets. The Silver metals with Moschino name on the back side scream Italian. The Hobo Shopper is surprisingly roomy measuring an ample 10”W x 7”H x 4"D. No Coupon codes necessary to take advantage of the sale and shipping will be free. There is a Pink Variant, and the slightly different J41570 in Cream available; see picures below. Click Here to browse all other pictures.

Beauty Solutions: Shine Eraser by E.L.F.

You know I love makeup and that I wear it everyday but I’m not one to carry a train case of makeup around with me when I leave the house. Usually I only have shine erasing sheets like Shine Eraser by E.L.F. and a lip balm. I’ll only bother to carry the lipstick that I’m wearing if I’m using a bold lip red or hot pink lip.

The Shine Eraser sheets absorbs the oil on your face without removing too much makeup along with them. They are made from a woven material that is highly absorbent. Of course you can use them even if you’re not wearing any makeup at all and they will work just the same.

There are lots of brands that sell these and some have translucent powder and some don’t. The ones pictured above don’t, but they do have Green Tea Extract, which helps to improve your skin's conditioning and disguise any small imperfections. Also, if you use it often, it will help to minimize your pores.

To use it, you only need to gently blot where you feel oily or look shiny and you can use both sides of the little sheet if you need to. Powder over it if you want to and you’re ready and shine free.

One last good thing on this product? The price: $1 for 50 sheets. Yes, that’s right, I didn’t miss any zeros in the price.

How To Dance Like Beyonce

If you want to shake your booty like Beyonce, you'll have to work on your flexibility – and a style of dance called J-Setting.
Step 1: Research J-Setting
Research the dance style called J-Setting. Beyonce incorporates a lot of its dance-team style moves in her routines.

Step 2: Practice your high kicks

Practice high kicks until you can do them smoothly – and in stiletto heels.

Step 3: Swing your hips

Shake your hips fast and furiously, as if you’re trying to shove someone aside with your hip bone; put your whole leg into the motion. Alternate between having your hands on your hips and stretched in the air as you gyrate. Slap your thighs or bottom occasionally as you’re moving your hips.

Step 4: Do pelvic thrusts
Work in some pelvic thrusts. Do them back and forth and in a circular motion, feet spread wide. Practice until you can do them keeping your back straight as you lower your body to the floor. Bonus points if you can end the thrusts with your body lowered all the way to the ground and one leg extended straight out to the side – without falling down!

Step 5: Walk the walk

Walk the walk: Skip and tap dance around in a circle as you move your arms to the beat – punch them out in front of you, wave them back and forth above your head, shake your finger at your imaginary audience.

Step 6: Shake your head
Incorporate some head and shoulder moves: Alternate raising your shoulders as you move your head and neck side to side, keeping your face looking forward.

Step 7: Make it your own

Now put it all together, adding your own special moves.

Did You Know?
Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” video was inspired by a 1969 dance performance on The Ed Sullivan Show called “Mexican Breakfast.”

Reality Check: Project Runway Season 6, Episode 12

Bryant Park became a reality for three designers on Project Runway last night. But, for two, it was the bittersweet end of their short-lived, reality show lives.

Tim Gunn took the designers to The J. Paul Getty Museum where they were invited to use the center as inspiration for their last design. To get the creative juices flowing, Gunn also brought out the models to serve as muses while the designers were perusing the Getty Center. From the striking architecture to the beautiful interiors and inspirational paintings, there was something for each of the designers to focus their designs on.

This was the final challenge for the five remaining designers and as the gravity of the situation set in, the tension in the studio could be cut with a knife.

Carol Hannah found a luxurious French bed from 1775 and designed a gold evening gown that the judges thought was beautifully executed but not reminiscent of the inspiration. While they all agreed that it was perhaps the most show-stopping piece on the runway, they also warned her that was playing it a bit safe.

Gordana fixated on a painting by Monet and created a dress that symbolized not only her simplistic and sophisticated design aesthetic but also her strong spirituality. As her model walked down the runway, she remarked that this was the best dress she felt she had ever made. The judges all agreed that her piece closely resembled the painting with the flowy, gorgeously draped material, but wondered if her performance would be strong enough to carry her all the way to Bryant Park.

Irina also spotted a painting, but she was interested in replicating the gauzy, sheer material that was draped over two voluptuous women. Her flowy number was beautifully crafted but she definitely missed the mark with the accessories. Her delicate dress was overshadowed by clunky shoes, heavy bangles, large earrings and a distracting headband. Once the accessories were removed, the judges all agreed the dress looked much simpler.

Christopher is the last man standing in this challenge and he knows he is the wildcard. He has always stayed true to his own visions, even at the dismay of the judges. At the Getty Center, he spotted a rocky water fountain and focused on the algae at the water’s edge, creating a dress in a slate blue-gray color. The judges felt he had chosen the wrong fabric for the dress and wondered if his lack of experience was becoming a hindrance.

Althea tried to recreate the architecture of the museum into the structure of her skirt but found that her material was much more difficult to manage than she had anticipated. Heidi Klum said she was disappointed with her and surprised to see such a messy design.

Luckily for Althea, her strong body of work was enough to save her and send her to Bryant Park along with Irina and Carol Hannah, whose designs stood out above the rest. Although Klum admitted that this was the hardest challenge to decide, the judges decided to send Christopher and Gordana home.

Next week is sure to bring a fresh dose of design drama as the designers get to make their own collections and head across the country to Bryant Park. Be sure to tune in next week to see how these three women will fair in the Big Apple!

Perfume of the Week: Parisienne by Yves Saint Laurent

Parisienne

The essence of a woman who is incredibly free—she is not from Paris, but Paris adopts her. She knows how to love, how to live. Parisienne is the fragrance of ultra-femininity and sensuality, built with notes of blackberry, damask rose, and sandalwood. The grand floral with a woody structure is luminous even in its mystery.

If you’re looking for a new scent – Parisienne is the one for you! Parisienne is absolutely luscious. It's sweet but not overly so, when you smell it you just want to keep smelling and smelling it. It's addicting. Every day you wear it, you’ll fall more in love with it. And while other perfumes may smell nice, this one packs a punch, but in a great way! There is something very fresh about it. Parisienne offers a very different scent: feminine, fresh, sweet, and rose like.

A 1.6 oz eau de parfum spray usually retails at $65 but is now on sale for $51.89 at Perfume WorldWide. I encourage those who are on the fence to try it out. You won’t be disappointed either. The rose is unlike any rose you’ll ever smell in other fragrances. Pure femininity in a bottle!

Makeup Pads That Will Have You Looking Runway-Ready

Getting the perfect smoky eye is challenging enough on its own, but winding up with an irritating ring of eye shadow underneath your eyes can be so frustrating. Makeup artist Michelle Villanueva set out to eliminate raccoon eyes with the creation of Shadow Shields, innovative makeup pads that adhere to the skin under the eye and catch loose eye shadow before it sticks to your skin.

The crescent shaped, disposable pads contour to the skin below your eye and the adhesive is easy to apply and remove—so you don’t have to worry about damaging the delicate skin around your eyes! Once the pad is securely placed under your eye, apply eye shadow as you normally would. The excess powder will collect on the pad instead of on your skin, saving you time and aggravation.

However, if you use concealer or powder under your eyes, wait until after you peeled the adhesive so you don’t end up pulling off the makeup you’ve just applied.

Recently featured on the Today Show with Kathy Lee and Hoda, Shadow Shields are growing in popularity and attracting a large celebrity clientele, including Halle Berry, Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavalleri, Jennifer Hudson, Rihanna, and more! And now we, too, can look as effortlessly flawless as our favorite stars!

Perhaps the best part of this product is the affordable price tag. For $9.99, you can get a box of 30 adhesive shields. Shadow Shields are sold online at http://www.shadowshields.com/, and in select stores, as listed on the website.

If you suffer from messy eye-shadow application, you will most definitely appreciate this product, hailed as “the best new find of 2009” and the “red carpet secret beauty product.” Shadow shields will get you flawless, professional makeup application at home without all the mess and the fuss!

Results of "Wen" by Chaz Dean

I know this is rather quick, but I just used the Wen by Chaz Dean Cleansing Conditioner in Sweet Almond Mint and I must say that I am in LOVE!

I blogged about a week ago stating that I had been slipping on my hair regimen (which I still was...lol....:(...), so when I used this my hair was kinda dry and dirty...ewww, I know. So this is what I did. I followed the directions and I rinsed my hair really well and then I took about 10 pumps of the conditioner and worked it through the front of my hair. Then I took about 10 more pumps and worked through the back and I believe I took 6 pumps and worked through the center and around the edges. Then I worked it through, massaging my scalp and working it through to the ends of my hair and I did that for about a good 10 minutes. Then rinsed thoroughly and I must say that I am really impressed and pleased with my hair. I guess you could call it a "co-wash" (conditioner wash) because I didn't use any shampoo and my hair feels wonderful! It doesn't feel dirty, greasy or dried out either and it has a pleasant smell (a real light mint smell).

I will of course follow up with my JBCO (Jamaican Black Castor Oil to oil my scalp) and moisturize and seal, but I think I may have found another staple to add to my regimen!

I look forward to using different products from the Wen family!

"Wen" by Chaz Dean in Sweet Almond Mint

So I was approached last week by Guthy-Renker and I was asked to try one of their products. I was flattered because in the past, I have seen infomercials related to these items by Wen, and I was tempted to try them then. I got my package today and I was impressed because they sent me a full sized 12 oz. bottle of the Wen by Chaz Dean Cleansing Conditioner in Sweet Almond Mint.

The directions are to rinse hair thoroughly and completely with cool water for at least 1 minute. Cleansing Conditioner should be applied in four sections: the crown of your head, the nape/back of head, ends to the left side of your hair and ends to the right side of your hair.

*For hair above your shoulders, use a minimum of 24 pumps, (6 pumps per section).
*For hair down to your shoulders, use a minimum of 32 pumps, (8 pumps per section).
*For hair past your shoulders use a minimum of 40 pumps, (10 per section).
*For hair to your mid-back use a minimum of 48 pumps, (12 per section).

Add a splash of water to help evenly distribute through the ends and massage vigorously into scalp for 2-3 minutes. Comb through with a wide-tooth comb and clip hair up for the remainder of the shower. Leave on for at least 3-5 minutes. The longer you leave it on the better for maximum results. Rinse with cool water thoroughly for 1-2 minutes by massaging your scalp and running your fingers through to the ends. While hair is soaking wet, apply 1-3 pumps of the Cleansing Conditioner as a leave-in conditioner starting from the back of the head through to the ends.

For thicker/coarser hair increase amount of pumps in order to thoroughly hydrate and cleanse the scalp and ends.

If you choose to rinse and repeat, use half the amount of suggested pumps for each cleansing.

Water (aqua), glycerin, cetyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, prunus serotina (wild cherry) bark extract, , rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, ptunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, hydrolyzed wheat protein, panthenol, butylene glycol, behentrimonium methosulfate, stearamidoproply dimethylamine, polysorbate 60, PEG-60 almond glycerides, amodimethicone, citric acid, menthol, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, fragrance limonene...(whew)...

you can find products at www.wenhaircare.com

I am gonna try it today and let you guys know how I like it later. I don't know if I am willing to use it alone. I may add it along with my other products, not sure yet.

Beauty Solution: Ardell Eye Lashes Starter Kit #101

It’s not like we’re born knowing how to apply false eyelashes and sometimes, even the people who are used to them have trouble applying them. If it sounds like I'm preaching to the quire then this Beauty Solution is for you.

Ardell is one of the most known brands when it comes to false eyelashes and they have a huge variety. One of their best products, if you ask me, is the Ardell Eye Lashes Starter Kit #101. It comes with the eyelashes (obviously), the glue and even a little applicator. You’ll only need to provide small scissors.

First, peel the lashes from their package carefully. Then, without any glue, measure them – put them close to your natural lash line and see if you need to cut them to fit your eyes. If you need to cut them, be sure to cut from the inner corner, unless there is some embellishment on that area, of course. Then, apply a little strip of glue along the band, shake them for about 30 seconds, and while looking down to a mirror, place them where you want them. Finally, open your eyes to make sure you didn’t glue your eyelids shut. Let them dry completely, touch up the eyeliner if you need to and then apply mascara to blend your lashes with the false ones if you want to. It takes practice so don’t give up if the fist try didn’t go as planned.

These Ardell lashes are re-usable so you’ll have plenty of material to practice with before you move on to the more expensive, fancy eyelashes. Have fun!

Rejuvenate your shoe collection and add just the right does of sexy yet sophisticated in this eye catching beauty from Boutique 9. Multiple straps weave their way into a chic swirl in front that will surely turn heads as you pass by. 4" covered heel on luxe leather sole. This gorgeous strappy caged in sandal also features: leather lining, leather sole, and a trendy zip up back for added edge. Boutique 9 is primarily sold at Ninewest.com but some colors like the brown variant can only be found at Shoebuy.com. All told I was able to find 4 distinctive colors.
