Fashion Trends: Mighty Whities

The birds are churping and flowers are beginning to blossom - which can only mean one thing: Spring is officially here. And although many people associate pastels as spring favorites, but this year expect to see a lot of might whities in the next few months.

One may think of white as being too simple of a color, out of touch for the season or boring but guess again. Designers like Micheal Kors, Twinkle by Wenlan, Vassilios Kostetsos, Christian Siriano, Jill Stuart, BCBG Max Azria and Badgley Mischka all agree, regardless how you style them, there's more to Mighty Whities than meets the eye. Wearing whites can be just as chic, sexy, bright and elegant as any other spring colors. Take a look below:

Expect Mighty Whities in V-cuts, tube tops, studs, sequinces and sheer madness!

Soft french cuts, Bubble dresses and sexy silky rompers.

long draped gowns that are bleeding embellishment from the neck, shoulder-peeking silhoulettes and ethereal white ruffles.

With White, the smallest detail always make the biggest impressions: Black buttons and lining to add a little eye abstraction. Are you set to wear your Mighty Whities this spring?

Spring 2010 Paris Couture Collections & Trends

Here are the trends we spotted at the Spring 2010 Fashion Show in Paris:

Alexis Mabille: This is a good example of when geometry meets fashion. Mabille’s Spring 2010 collection definitely stood out in Paris with the cartoon-like couture. Two-toned hair color and fashion: Black contrasted by vibrant Fuschia, Blue, and Yellow.

Armani PrivĂ©: "It's about the moon," explained Giorgio Armani before his show. "I always need a hook to get into a collection, and that was it—thinking about something romantic and dreamy, far away from our everyday life. Something less harsh." You can see the lunar references in the Classic, Soft, luminescent fabrics and curviform cutting fabrics.

Chanel: Classic couture, refreshening Pastel colors with a hint of silver complimented by Lady Gaga's "Heart-shaped" like hair.

Christian Dior: Romanticized gowns. Sleeveless fanned tops. Rich silk and colors topped with sequins.

Givenchy: Dark, strong, erotic and dramatic beauty. Riccardo Tisci took us back into time – the 70’s with cocktail dresses featuring spiral-cut sprays of organza, jumpsuits in black lace with boleros, and a section of long evening look.

Jean Paul Gaultier: Giant sombreros, fringed and silver-studded denim; bra-top feathered dresses; shifts embroidered with bright jewels or worn with metallic shoulder and leg-guards; and ball gowns woven, in the manner of peasant baskets, in ribbons of shadow-dyed silk and suede.. a Mexican fiesta in Paris indeed!

StyleFixx Event Shows Women How to Take Charge of Fashion

At last night’s Girls Night Out, hosted by StyleFixx in the Metropolitan Pavilion, Fashion With Fifi mingled with NYC’s trendy fashionistas and perused a room with more than 55 style conscious designers and brands.

The two-night event, held on October 21st and 22nd from five to 10 p.m., featured special guest Project Runway Designer Kara Janx and her new fall collection as well as complimentary makeup demos from Emmy award-winning celebrity makeup artist Eve Pearl.

Fashionwithfifi.com's Erin (Yellow Scarf) and Kara Janx.

This was the debut of the StyleFixx event at its NYC location and Jason Rothe, the company’s president, stressed how exciting it was to be in the city. “Our goal is to bring class and sophistication to this unique shopping event,” he said.

Rothe explained that the event was all about treating women well and generously by showcasing the most relevant and current products on the market. Fashion consultants were at the event, offering inside information for style-conscious women vendors encouraged guests to try on everything from jewelry to jackets, to hats and sunglasses, making the event fun and dynamic!

“Women in New York City are more edgy and more in-tuned to trends here. They are so surrounded with fashion and trends, which makes them more critical,” said Rothe.

Rothe recognizes that vendors today need to take a new approach to marketing their products and designs to women. “For longevity, you have to be creative and engaging and reach out to women,” he said. The purpose of this event was to create a very hands-on and interactive shopping event that was both fun and relaxing for women.

Stylists at Enzo Milano showed guests how to create loose, romantic curls with their new product line, giving demonstrations and even letting guests try it out themselves, as you can see in the pictures above!

Guests also sipped on complimentary X-Rated Fusion cocktails, Stella Artois, and Barefoot Wine and took home a StyleFixx Swag Bag stuffed with free products such as Yes to Carrots Hair & Scalp Mask, Frownies Wrinkle Cream, glamour kits from Fashion Forms, and more!

StyleFixx hosts similar events in Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles, so be sure to check out their website, http://www.stylefixx.com/, for event and ticket information.
