Fabulous Fashion Finds: Memorial Day Sale

Cheers Recessionistas!

I hope your Memorial Day Weekend was as fun and safe for you as it was for me. I did get a chance to snack down on succulent baby back ribs, world famous Nathan's Hot Dogs at Cooney Island, and take advantage of the holiday sales.

I made my first stop at Express where they were having a 40% off selected merchandise sale (which seemed more like 40% off everything, except for the newest items). The store was cluttered with shoppers wanting to take advantage of the holiday discount as well, but I was able to find great items in my size.

For partying purposes or to wear at a special event, I purchased this Satin Racerback Top at $15.99. in Pink Albert, this smooth satin and bugle-bead embellishments put a sexy spin on a classically casual top. It's front features a scoop, raunched neckline - the back highlights your shoulders with a chic racerback. The bottom portion of the top gets wider at the end for a looser fit.

Next I decided to grab this beautiful button-front short jumpsuit in Berry Blush. Originally priced at $39.50 - I bought it for $23.70. Ironically, I wasn't planning on getting this Grecian inspired jumpsuit. However, I'm glad that I didn't dismiss the idea entirely when I first saw it online because the stock picture did it no justice. Infact, this trendy (cotton) jumpsuit features a sexy V-neck button front, short sleeves, adjustable and removable belt at the waist. It's not as short as it appears online. Infact, it ran long and big, so I opted to get it in extra small.

You know I'm always up for denim deals and I was able to find this dressy demin shorts at $23.70. Unlike many denim shorts, this fits just right; without cutting off circulation to your butt or exposing too much of your assets. I plan on pairing this up with the beaded Satin Racerback Top.

I'm very excited about the purchase of my first pair of leggings -- denim at that. I know you're probably thinking "where have you been". Well, I can explain it all: I was never the type to wear leggings or tights because I'm self conscious about my butt. That all changed when I tried on this beautiful pair of leggings at Express. They hugged but butt just right and complimented my curvatures - no spillage or dints not to mention that they scrunched up at the bottom. I felt so sexy at $14.70 and couldn't wait to wear them.

And here's what I picked up at Forever21

This retro black and yellow tunic top is the first item I laid my eyes on when I entered the store. I wasn't so sure of how it would look (on me) so I decided to try it on. On my way to the fitting room, I received endless compliments on it which helped shape my decision to get it at $14.80. Although it's designed as a knit top, it runs long which means that you can wear it as a both a casual tunic or party dress incase you're unsure of what to wear it with. And to top it off, the back features a stylish racerback that's great to maneuver in for the summer.

And finally, a little something to feed my shoe fetish; I bought 2 pairs of chic thong sandals at $7.50 each. Designed with adjustable straps - they're great to wear this summer if you want easy on and off access and were priced under $10. Need I say more?

(Gold)

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take advantage of Old Navy's $1 flip flops but I did partake in others from places like Express, Forever21, and Victoria's Secret. Everything came up to $148.19 for 11 items (including 2 sandals) which rounded each piece to about $13.47. Was that a bargain or what?!

Search For The Best Summer Sandals

I hate looking for things – especially when they’re supposed to be where I last left them. This morning I went on a rant in search of my summer sandals. For some strange reason, I can’t find the handful of sandals I purchased last year. I looked everywhere; underneath the bed, in the closet, behind the door and still no sandals. On the positive side, this gives me a reason to go shoe shopping for sandals! Here’s what I’m getting

Every woman needs a pair of bright white thongs to sachet in – especially foAdd Imager the summer. When I saw this Flipperr Wedge - Whiteleather thong embellished with gold décor, I knew this was the one. Talk about toe-expose’! This sassy 2 inch heel wedge can be worn with just about anything; a short halter dress, long skinny jeans, or relaxed pleated shorts. Not bad for $59.99.

Ramos 2 - Multi Amaretto

I'm not even a wedgey (a women who loves wedges) yet I'm falling head over heels for this bad boy by BCBG. The first thing that attracted me to Ramos 2 - Multi Amaretto is it's intricate color. Muy Caliente! It's not like anything I've seen before from any brand. The funky upper portion is an interwoven leather of cream, gold, tan, and cinnamon brown - completed with brown paint dripping down the heel. I love how BCBG makes sexy wearable heels. $98.99 is a little steep for my budget, but I was sold once I saw the bold golden buckle above the peep-toe. I can't wait to bring on the summer heat with this baby!

They say when in Rome do as the Romans do, and I did just that! Believe it or not; this is my first pair of gladiators and I'm very happy with my pick of Freak Out Sandal by Luichiny for $59.99. Before, I was never the type to go ga-ga over glads - it just wasn't my thing. This was only because I could never find the perfect pair. They were either too wide, too ugly, or too much. Thank god I've found the one! This sleek, leather, open-toe sandal features a beautiful weaving straps in silver. And get this; there's a zipper on the back that makes it easy for you to put it on or off. This sandal is going to be my favorite for summer this year!

Sanfrann in Coral

And finally for both beauty and comfort, I purchased Steve Madden's Sanfrann in Coral. Coral is a great color to wear for the summer. It's bright, bold and goes perfectly with just about any skin complexion - which is one reason why it caught my attention. But when I looked closely and noticed this was a patent leather snake-skin sandal in Coral for $49.99, I knew I was in love. There's no denying that this looped thong is beautiful. It's simply fun, pretty, and still chic - perfect for all summer adventures. I'm going down under with this baby!

I just killed two birds with one stone: I boughtsome much needed summer sanadal and I got rid of that horrible headache. What more could a girl ask for?!?!

Shopping Responsibly

Spring SHOE-GASMS:

Imagine walking home from a long day of work. Your boss has worked just about every nerve in your body. You’ve missed the season finale of ER, rain is about to pour heavily; which isn’t a good look, since you blew out your hair the day before. Everything is going south until you notice pumps - that are to die for - on display at a small boutique across the street. Without thinking and/ or looking, you dash across the street (almost missing death) to get a better look. You enter the boutique and ask to try on the pumps that are on the window display.
“What size,” asked the associate? “European - Size 40 please,” you respond.
Shortly after the associate brings the shoe along with a condom set on top of the box then speeds away.
“What in the world!?!?!!?” You think to yourself. You shake your head, dismissing the event and proceed to try on the pumps. Suddenly your pelvic muscles contract into quick circles, followed by an intense stimulation. In one minute flat you undergo a major orgasm. It’s not just any orgasm that you’ve experience – it’s a shoe-gasm! Embarrassed by the event you quickly purchase the shoe and exit the store. As you exit the associate says “Next time do it responsibly – use a condom!”
So with that said, here are some shoes that have you coming back for more!!!!!!!!!!
