First Look: House of Dereon - Spring 2010

We got a first look of Beyonce's fantastic photo shoot for Mama Tina's House of Dereon Spring 2010 collection. The shoot was shot on location in the beautiful and exotic country of Brazil - how fitting considering the people, and culture of Brazil compliments the colors and pieces of this collection which is exotic, sexy and artistic - all in one. Beyonce was pictured looking mighty fierce in her flowly topical sun dresses, which perfectly portrays her as a goddess among Brazil’s amazing scenery. The turban look is reminiscent of a young Naomi/ Tyra at her best - simply beautiful!

What do you think - will you purchase from this collection?

Shoe of the Week: The Sasha Fierce

Sasha Fierce - Red

I'm not one who's big on fashion lines from celebrities turned designers or friends & family of celebrities turned designers, but this shoe won me over. These sexy Sasha Fierce platforms need no introduction - they speak for themselves. What I love about them is that they have a 3/4 platform that are hot right now for fashion with a rough, feminine, edge that screams bad ass! The open toe and t-strap design just take this shoe to another level of sex appeal while it plays on a 4 ¾ inch heel! They'll pair perfectly with a pair of rolled up jeans or a sexy dress out on a night with the girls. They're available at heels.com for only $69.99 - in sizes 6.5 to 10; which runs true to size. They are also available in red, black or nude.

Beyonce + Solange promos Samantha Thavasa in Tokyo

Yesterday Beyonce and her sister Solange Knowles traveled half way around the world to attend a promotional event for Japanese fashion brand Samantha Thavasa at Tokyo’s Disneyland hotel in Urayasu, near Tokyo, Japan. While Beyonce appeared predictable and boring, sister Solange came prepared with her A-game. Sol Angel wore a sleeveless white tunic with chain strand details, a ruffled shimmery pink Moschino mini skirt, and a sassy pair of Moschino Cheap & Chic “two faced” shoes!

Beyonce Who?!

While embracing her short do Solange appeared fresh, feminine, and effortlessly beautiful. Her smile was as radiant as Halle Berry’s and grace comparable to that of Jada Pinkett-Smith. Solange’s hot heels, which aren’t yet available, are half ankle booties and half strappy heels. You have to admit Solange is definitely putting her best foot forward on this appearance.

House of Dereon's 2009 Fall Campaign

Beyonce/ Sasha Fierce released the House of Dereon's Fall 2009 Campaign video shoot. Interestingly enough you'll find that this collection have influences from both Beyonce and her alter ego Sasha Fierce. While Beyonce stays true to Mommy Knowles' hold on long couture dresses, Sasha Fierce rebels with an urban edge.

The Sasha Fierce line isn't impressive at all. Certainly one should expect the urban and youthful feel; however, there was nothing nouveau about it. I expected more - something different: edgy rock-inspired pieces. There are some pieces I'd wear but a few seem dated - a blast from the past 90's Hip-Hop style. Maybe Kimora Lee Simmons is at the Baby Phat Headquarters secretly thinking been there - done that!

The Fall 2009 House of Dereon's couture dresses are looking far more superior than the ones that preceded them. It seems that the couture portion of the collection was inspired by the fashion and styles of the roaring 20s. The dresses are extremely feminine - flattering a woman's every curve, vivid, chic and elegant. They also have a Parisan flare to them. Doesn't Beyonce look great graceful in the green satin dress?

Beyonce and Mom Launch Sasha Fierce

Sasha Fierce isn't just Beyonce's alter ego, its attitude, fashion and lifestyle! According to wwd
Beyoncé and Tina Knowles are looking to capitalize more on Sasha Fierce. Utilizing the name of the singer’s alter ego and third solo album, “I Am…Sasha Fierce,” the mother and daughter design team plans to launch a new junior apparel label, Sasha Fierce for Deréon, for back-to-school selling.

The collection is inspired by Beyoncé’s stage presence and includes a full range of sportswear, outerwear, handbags, footwear, eyewear, lingerie and jewelry. Positioned alongside the company’s Deréon junior label, which is similarly priced, "Sasha Fierce" has so far been picked up by department stores including Macy’s and Dillard’s and specialty stores: Jimmy Jazz and Against All Odds. The collection, Tina said, it's “edgier and trendier and reflects Sasha Fierce’s daring and outgoing attitude.”

The jewelry, shoes and eyewear, she added, “are really over the top” with large chains made in mixed metals such as silver with gold, heavily studded shoes and oversize sunglasses like the ones Beyoncé wears on tour. The clothes are a little more subdued to make the accessories stand out — a one-shoulder dress, black bodysuit, fake leather jacket with oversize collar, leggings and destructed jeans with mesh and lace details lining the ripped material.

“When the tour started, we noticed the definite style of it,” Tina explained. “Thierry Muglerdesigned the clothes for the tour, but we really wanted to celebrate the style and interpret that into a collection.”

Beyoncé, who said in a statement “the line really exudes a different side of my personality, which I am grateful that I can express,” had a lot of say in the creation of the collection, Tina said.

“She definitely tells me what she likes and what she doesn’t. It was her suggestion to line the rips of the jeans with the mesh and lace,” she said. “It makes the jeans look really different from what’s out there.”

Tina said while they launched the Sasha Fierce for Deréon collection to pay homage to the tour, she said they would happily keep it going if customers respond to it at retail.

“We have had tremendous success with our graphic T-shirt business based on the lyrics from Beyoncé’s new CD,” said Philip Davis, president of Deréon’s parent company, Beyond Productions LLC. “We believe the Sasha Fierce collection will enjoy the same success at retail and coincide with the success of Beyoncé’s world tour.”

The collection wholesales from $25 to $75. Davis declined to give first-year sales expectations for the label.

When Bad Fashion Happens to Good People: Beyonce

Today Beyonce was out and about in London - stopping at Harvey Nichols as the modern day Raggedy Ann. Mrs. Carter decided to dress herself up in the dark figuring that she'll save both energy and money. Her hair was a disaster - frizzy, messy, and in desperate need of a relaxer. She needs to upgrade her shoe size as well - her toes look like packed hot dogs in those pumps. Also, check out her mouth piece: looks like glitter got caught in Beyonce's gums. What was Beyonce thinking when she walked out of her hotel!

Ladies, take note: this is a perfect example of why you shouldn't have yes men or women in your camp. Is it me or did she wear this same top just a few weeks back? I'm not sure if Beyonce recently fired her stylist but she's been looking fashionably awful lately. Whoever is responsible for this Fashion Faux Pas needs to sit home and collect unemployment and let a real pro take over. Como se dise Fashion Do Over?

When Bad Fashion Happens to Good People: Beyonce

Offender Caught Clowning Around!

Beyonce made a tour stop in Vienna, Austria yesterday. Wearing sheer tank, J Brand jeans and silver Yves Saint Laurent boots, Sasha Fierce looked like Sasha Mess! This getup wasn't made for her and her stylist should have known better. Doesn't Beyonce look like a high-end clown (and I'm being nice when I say this)? This is a definately a fashion faux pas for B. There's no fooling me; I don't care how much this look cost her -- it's a no-no! Is this another case of "It looks better on her than me" for Beyonce because Rihanna pulled it off just a few weeks ago and did a fabulous job.

When Fashionwithfifi asked what you thought of Beyonce's look, here's what was said:
"She looks [like a] hot mess! It looks like she has no shape, and her pants aren't fitting [her] right" - Carlos in Brooklyn, NY

Ladies I know you adore and her style, but do not seek inspiration from this look (not her version atleast)! Dressing like this in public will definately keep you single [even if you're not trying to be].

Celebrity Makeovers: Kim Kardashian

Imitation Of Life

New weather brings in new looks and yes ladies, in case you didn’t get the memo: it’s officially makeover season! Here’s a picture of Kim K’s new “Beyonce look alike” do. Once I saw this picture of Kim I couldn’t stop giggling in disbelief. What and who gave her this bright idea? At first I thought she was wearing a lace-front wig but then realized that Beyonce’s alter ego Sasha Fierce inspired her to do this. If you ask me; it’s nice but it’s not Kim (Beyonce yes, Kim no). Talk about imitation is the best form of flattery: first Aubrey now her.

Another case of Beyonceitis

THIERRY MUGLER reveals SASHA FIERCE!

From Superstar to Super Hero
Introducing Ms. Sasha Fierce ..... there is no competition!

Last year Beyonce was so inspired by Thierry Mugler's design at the Metropolitian Museum of Art's Superheroes exhibition that she instantly hired him to creatively mastermind her 2009 world tour for the welcoming of her alter ego Sasha Fierce! Miss Sasha is known for her energetic, sassy, ass popping, jaw dropping performances. Mugler explained to WWD, "Sasha Fierce is another aspect of Beyonce’s personality. She is Fierce on stage and Beyonce in real life. I tried to understand these two sides with my own perception of both aspects." He added that the spirit he is trying to evoke is,"The duality between being a woman and a warrior." As Beyonce's Creative Director, Thierry has managed both the lighting and sets for the tour in which Sasha is expected to outdo herself once again. I'm really feeling this getup. Give it to Beyonce/ Sasha to turn up the heat and stomp on her competitors. From the look of things these two make a perfect pair. Who else could bring a super hero to life?
