Fragrances: Only The Brave Cologne by Diesel

We don't often feature men's fragraces in our "Perfume Of The Month", but every now and then we like to spotlight something special. Only The Brave Cologne by Diesel, 1.7 oz Eau De Toilette Spray for Men is just one of those special cases.

This perfume (that is technically an Eau de Toilette) has notes of lemon, leather, cedar and amber. The lemon is the first to appear, which definitely makes this perfume a summer fragrance. It lingers and although it's initial intensity fades pretty fast. A hint is aa that's there by the end of the day. After an hour or so, depending on the person’s skin type, the intoxicating (in a very good way) leather and cedar kick in. These are strong scents that convey power, strength and sexiness. I didn’t want to believe it when I read it has no patchouli in it! By the end of the day it smells exactly like sweet patchouli but I guess it must be the cedar and amber together that resemble that particular scent, so common in men’s perfumes since the days of the romans.

Some women might be tempted to buy a sweet smelling men's summer scent because they'd like to splash it on too. In some cases that's ok since women can wear some summer men’s fragrances too and no one will ever know they aren’t ladies’ scents. This happens because they can come across as a little effeminate for being so fresh. However this is most definitely not the case with Only The Brave Cologne by Diesel. This is a men’s fragrance that was created by men, for men and that’s that.

If you’re a woman and are reading this, you know what I mean when I say this is one of those perfumes that smells like a man. For instance, if you are on the same elevator as a guy who wears this kind of perfume and you happen to smell it, you instantly think “Wow, that smells like a men!”. Whatever you do, you just can’t help but look at him, even if he’s not that good looking.
