New Faces of MAC: Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper

Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper met at the Lucky Cheng restaurant in New York City to talk about sex. The two peas in an eccentric i-pod are the new faces of the MAC AIDS Fund campaign dubbed “From Our Lips.” Two new lipsticks inspired by the pop tarts will launch on March 18, 2010 in North America. The “Gaga” and “Cyndi” lipstick tubes will retail at $14 each, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the M.A.C AIDS Fund.

According to avert.org, at the end of 2007, an estimated 455,636 people were living with AIDS in America (50 states plus the District of Columbia). The highest numbers were in California, Florida, New York State and Texas. That was three years ago; today, the numbers continue to climb. During her meet with Lauper, Gaga proudly announced that she had an AIDS test two days before.

It is important that we continue to promote AIDS awareness and the practice of safe sex throughout the world. Using famous celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauder is an effective way of doing so. Isn’t it wonderful to see pop icon use their celebrity status for a great cause?!
